The Skull & Sword has deep roots in Powell Peralta history. Ray Rodriguez conceived the original graphic, and legendary artist Vernon Courtlandt Johnson (VCJ) illustrated it under George Powell’s art direction in 1979. It became Powell Peralta’s first pro signature deck graphic.

The unique Gee-Gaw shape came later. Powell developed it during the jump-ramp era to add strength around areas where decks often broke. This distinctive shape was produced during 1987 and 1988 and was also used for the classic Ripper graphic.

This reissue features Shape 179, SP3 concave, and a 15.125″ wheelbase. In addition, the 9.75″ width provides a wide and stable platform for bowls, ramps, cruising, and old-school setups.

The silver foil finish makes this edition stand out. Powell screen prints the bottom graphic directly over the foil, while the top features a dyed wood veneer and hand-printed logo. Because of the foil and natural wood grain, slight variations make each deck unique.
